Its the Skin You Will Always Live in

In today’s society with all of the medical, cosmetic, and aesthetic knowledge and help we have the ability to change almost anything we do not like about ourselves. If you do not like your lips, “get them filled!” If you wish your two girl friends on your chest were larger or smaller, “get a reduction or an addition!” You do not like how your smile looks, braces and bleach ! There is an answer for almost all of our little imperfections that drive us crazy now days except one thing! YOU CAN NOT BUY NEW SKIN!

Yes you can get Botox injections but once you start its hard to stop and the cost adds up quickly. Am I knocking on injections ABSOLUTELY NOT! I have friends and family members who get their fine lines and wrinkles taken care of by injections and they look wonderful! BUT if you are like me and want to hold off for as long as possible on those injections or you are simply against it GOOD SKIN CARE is DING DING DING your answer! So, lets look at some things we can do for our skin to help it feel and look as young as possible for as long as we can!

Step 1:

Cleansing your face is so important. When you neglect to cleanse your face you are allowing dirt, oil, and bacteria to set into your pores leaving your skin; dirty, oily, flaky, scaly, dry, and lets just be down right honest kinda gross. Everyone’s skin is so different so the type of face cleanser you choose should be based on your skin type. The skin types are Oily, Dry, and Combination unless you are one of the lucky few people in the world who have normal skin and if you are that person I am JEALOUS! And so is every other lady lacking that flawless skin type!

Cleansers for Oily Skin: Neutrogena Oil-Free Face Wash (they also have acne options), Burt’s Bees Soap Bark and Deep Cleansing Cream, PanOxyl Acne Wash, Skinfood Egg White Pore Foam, Pro-Active Cleanser, and GlamGlow Supercleanse Cream to Foam Cleanser.

An ingredient that has everyone going WILD but is highly effective is ACTIVATED CHARCOAL! It works wonders remember to try and find oil free face cleansers for oily skin, or cleansers that help balance PH.

I had to do some research for this next skin type because I fall in the lucky category of oily skin, so for you dry skin gals I had to fish for you ladies some answers!

Cleansers for Dry Skin: Garnier Clean and Smoothing Cream for Oily Skin, Vichy Normaderm Daily Deep Cleansing Gel, CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser, and Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Mild.

There are many other great products but the key to to give your face the moisture it is lacking are natural ingredients like; coconut oil, almond oil, and aloe vera so look for those ingredients when picking a face cleanser.

Cleansers for Combination Skin: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, Avalon Organics, Origins Checks and Balance, Clinic Facial Soap with Dish Mild, and Murad Age Reform.

Remember when having combination skin you also want to look at the ingredients to make sure you are picking out which is best for you. Are you combination oily and dry, normal and dry, or oily and normal, depending on your combination skin will help determine the best cleanser for you!

Step 2:

Toners! Toners are super important for your skin they help to bring back moisture from your cleanser, they provide a lot of nutrition, they take away any left over dirt and oil, and they help your skin feel tighter, cleaner, and smoother. They come in various forms such as oil, spray, and liquid.

Wonderful toners: Burts Bee’s Rose Mary Water, Mario Badescu Skin Care,  The Body Shop Tea Tree, Clean and Clear Essential Deep Cleaning Toner, and Neutrogena Clear Pore.

Step 3 :

Moisturize those faces ladies! No matter what type of skin you have moisturizing your face is so important. Wrinkles are caused by lack of  moisture and we do NOT want wrinkles!!!!! Moisturizers also have medication and natural ingredients in them to help prevent wrinkles, breakouts, infections, and bacteria. Moisturizers help control oil while still providing nutrition to the skin. When choosing a moisturizer try to choose one that already has an SPF of at least 15 in it. SPF is very important we do not want sun damage on our faces. If you have oily skin pick an oil free moisturizer, and if you have sensitive skin pick something more natural or hypoallergenic. I try not to tell people exactly which moisturizers they should use because every woman is going to have different needs based on age, skin type, complexion, allergies, and results that are desired. Listed below will be my suggestion of brands !

Brands for Moisture: Origins, Clinique, Beauty Counter, Cetaphil, Neutrogena, Olay, Estee lauder, Philosophy, and Murad.

The DO’S, DON’TS, and Recommendations:

  • Do not sleep in your second face! Always remove your makeup before going to bed to avoid clogs!
  • Use all 3 steps cleanser, toner, and moisturizer for the best result for your skin care routine
  • Skin care routines should be done two times a day, best in the morning and at night
  • Give the toner time to dry before applying the moisturizer to your skin
  • Always wear sun screen
  • If you notice any weird spots, moles, or skin discoloration see a doctor
  • Invest in a Clear Sonic, if you do not have access to a clear sonic there are other brands at makeup counters, and stores such as; Walmart, Target, and Walgreens
  • Seek professional facials when your time and budget allows this helps with complexion, circulation in the face, and PH balance.
  • Do a at home facial at least once a week
