Motivation Monday “Make the Cuts”

Its Monday and you have either just gotten home from work, or you are about to go into work depending on which shift your job title requires. You are thinking to yourself another Monday, another week, the same thing just a different day. You are tired of the same old same old, there has to be more to life than working 40 hours a week just to pay bills. You only have two days off a week if you are lucky and next week, guess what? You get to do it all over again. You do not get to spend the time you would like with your spouse, your kids, your friends, or enjoying your hobbies. You do not hate life but you do not love it either. There HAS to be something more right?!

Ladies if you feel this way YOU are NOT alone! I think we all feel this way or have felt this way at some point. It is hard to balance work, your kids needs, bills, doctor visits, school and responsibilities and find time to enjoy life. SO we realize the problem, but what is the solution? You simply can not keeping going on like this. You have to figure out something and figure it out fast. Let’s look at a few ideas to help us feel like we are getting more out of life than the “same thing different day” feeling from week to week.

CUT IT:

Cut out the things that you really do not want to do but feel obligated to do just because you have done it for so long or its a tradition of some sort. If there are things in your life that take up time and they are not fulfilling, simply stop doing it. Think about the time you are spending doing something you really do not want to be doing just out of tradition, when you could be using that time for things that would bring pure happiness. Maybe it use to bring you happiness but now it does not fit into your life schedule and it is becoming more of a burden than a pleasure, it is okay to cut it. SO lets cut out all things that are not necessary and do not bring happiness that tie up your time.

Cut Them:

This is an area I struggle in myself, but at times it is necessary and must be done. If there are people in your life that are constantly taking from you and you are never receiving in return and the relationship is draining the life out of you, cut them out. All relationships are give and take, so friendships and family relationships will take from you and people will need you and rely on you and that is OK! I am referring to the relationships that take take take and in return they offer you no support. They do not give back, you are always doing favors for them and you can not remember if they have ever done a favor for you. Another example of people to cut off are people that you would never hear from if you did not pick up the phone and call them, if you did not go to see them, if you did not make the plans, the people who put in no effort. These relationships are draining and waste time, this time could be put into others that know how to have healthy relationships in return. You could be spending that time and energy on your husband, mom, kids, and your real, loyal, in it until the end girl friends.

Cut The Insecurities

Insecurities, all women have them and they are not a fun time. Insecurities also play into our emotions which can cause us to be unmotivated and lead into depression. When we allow insecurities to step into our thought process it does not help us enjoy our every day to day and week to week routines. We ladies MUST cut the insecurities. Cutting out insecurities can be hard but it is very doable. Speak positive and encouraging words to yourself. Tell yourself things like “I am strong”, “I am beautiful”. “I am fun”, “I am loved”, “I am blessed”, and other uplifting things. Write motivational quotes and Bible verses on your mirrors at home, place them on your desk at work, place them as the back ground of your phone, put them in your car, and in your kitchen. When you start cutting insecurities you become happier which ultimately leads to a more fulfilling day to day life.

Cut The Excuses

We always make excuses of why we can not find time for our selves. Lets cut the excuses and just do it! Time for yourself plays a big role in happiness and fulfillment. If you do not take time for the things you enjoy then DUH no wonder we are not happy ladies! Think to yourself what makes ME feel good. What can I do for ME. Not what is the new fad, what does my husband want, what are the other ladies at work doing, NO! What are some things I enjoy that will make me feel good about myself and that I can add into my everyday or every week life. If you enjoy painting, paint! If you enjoy writing, write! If you enjoy reading, find yourself a good book and read! You do not have to take hours out of your day to do the things you enjoy. Just 15, 30, or 45 mins will do the trick. It will give you wonderful “ME” time that you deserve so much.

Cut The Bad Habits

We all have bad habits whether we like to admit it or not. We are not perfect and we never will be, BUT there are habits that we are aware of that are bad that we can cut. The habits that just make us feel bad about ourselves and take up too much of our time. If you are a smoker cut it, smoking is not only bad for your health but the cost adds up and so does the time. If you are on social media way to much cut it out, its wasted time. If you are a complainer stop complaining and replace each thought with something you are grateful for. Procrastinators (this is me!) if you go ahead and knock that homework, work, phone call, or duty out of the way look at how accomplished you would feel and time you would save. Gossip is a bad, ugly, hurtful thing that lets be honest almost all women do. Instead of gossip, find that time to invest in real conversation with someone. Excessive napping… naps are great and sometimes necessary, but to nap just to nap its a waste of time.  If you were to calculate all of the breaks you take during a full 24 hour day to smoke, look at social media, complain, procrastinate, gossip, or nap you would be surprised with how much time you would have had to be doing something enjoyable. Cutting the bad habits will also open up the door for good, relaxing, and happy habits to form.

Cut Into That Vacation Time

Take a vacation. Do not be afraid to use those vacation hours, or take unpaid days off. Life is about balance and in order to feel fulfilled you need to maintain a happy balance in life. Take time off of work go to the beach, go to the lake, spend time at home with friends and family going to the movies, shopping, and out to eat. Ladies you work hard, do not be ashamed to give yourself a break, not only do you deserve it you need it. Cut into that vacation time, have a few vacation periods planned out a year so you can have something to look forward to throughout the year.

Is this blog post going to fix all of our problems, ABSOLUTELY NOT! BUT it is a start. It is important to remember that WE matter too and our happiness matters. We can not keep running ourselves ragged attempting to make it to every function. We can not continue to keep giving without getting. We can not keep letting our insecurities run wild. We can not keep making excuses for why we never do anything we enjoy. We can not keep holding on to bad habits that waste precious time, and we can not keep denying ourselves of well deserved time off! If we continue like this then there is no joy in life. We must make time for the things that make us happy, for the people who are important to us, and time to escape from our everyday routine every now and then. Spend time meditating and praying about the things in your life that need to be cut and the things that need to stay. Ask for the peace and strength to let go of the things, people, and maybe even the job that needs to be cut out. You only live one life and you deserve happiness. We were not created to live in misery. SO!!!! Pick the things out that make you happy, that make you feel fulfilled and do it with no regret and no excuses. Decide who is important to you and spend all of your time with them! Pick out those vacation days and put it on the calendar! Most important, decide everyday that you are going to wake up and be the best you. You can be making the most out of everyday seeking happiness in all you do so that way my friend you can live a full life WITHOUT all of the unnecessary events, people, habits, and wasted time. It is time to make the CUTS!

Look the Right Way During Vaca!

bird

If you know me you know it is NO secret that I LOVE to vacation. My husband and I will vacation any time of the year, at any place, and at every opportunity. We never miss a chance to escape our small town and live like kings and queens for a week. If you say lets go on vacation, just know our bags are probably already packed and to count us in!

During vacation I like to look my BEST! Why??? Well duh!  There will be a lot of pictures, a lot of fancy dinners, a lot of day dates, and a date night pretty much every night. SO of course I want to look good for not only my hot hubs but for the camera too. After all, the pictures will be plastered all over social media for everyone and their mother to see. BUT here is the catch, how do you look your best when WAY over half of your closet is at home. You are limited on your time because no one wants to spend 2 to 3 hours a day during vacation getting ready, and all activities include sight seeing, playing in the water, and soaking up the rays!?!?!?! How do you get that perfect Pinterest, camera ready, I woke up like this look that doesn’t take forever! I am about to give you a few tricks that I have learned over my many travel experiences that help you feel and look your best!

PREPARATION :

You want to spend time before your vacation preparing, this will help you cut the “getting pretty” time in half!

  • Take a trip to the salon two-three weeks before your vacation and have your hair trimmed and any color you need to be added, this is not the time to try anything new. You want to make your appointment a few weeks out just in case the cut is a little shorter than you like or if you are like me, it takes my face sometime to adjust to a new cut and added color!
  • Treat yourself to a beautiful spray tan the day before you leave. If you are leaving for vacation Friday morning get sprayed Thursday evening! This will allow the tan the time it needs to develop while you sleep Thursday night and will be fresh for the entire week to come.
  • Whiten your teeth the week before. Nothing makes a picture perfect picture quit like a pretty smile.
  • Treat yourself to a manicure and pedicure a few days prior to taking off. Make sure to pick a neutral color that can blend with all out fit choices such as, white, nude, black, grey, or a light pink.
  • Eye Brows, Eye Brows, Eye Brows….. get your eye brows waxed, and tinted. This will show off your beautiful brows by giving them a fresh, cleaned up shape right before your trip. The tint will allow your brows to look fuller while adding a pop of color. This step will not only enhance your eyes but it will give you a made up look during times that you are not so made up!
  • Get eyelash extensions, this will keep you from spending time on mascara, and save you the trouble of your mascara running if you get wet, or too hot. This will also enhance your eyes and will give you a made up look during times that you are not so made up!
  • PLAN!!!! plan your outfits! look up the weather forecast a few days before and plan for the temperature. Keep in mind the activities you have planned, and the activities you have discussed. Do NOT pack quickly take your time and plan so you will feel like you not only have everything you need but you will feel satisfied and beautiful in your outfit choices.

Tips For Your Trip:

Lets talk day makeup first! During the day you do not want to have on a full face of makeup, it is just simply to heavy, The Jersey Shore days have come and gone and lets keep them there. Stick with a more natural look. Use things like:

  • BB creams
  • Tinted moisturizers
  • Water Proof Under Eye Concealer
  • Tinted Chap stick
  • Nude or light pink lip stains
  • If you are one to like a little more of the made up look, pop on a color lip stain and blush!

At night I stick to my normal makeup routine, I am comfortable with it and it makes me feel beautiful. This is not the time to try a new makeup look or a new color, stick to what you know and what makes you feel confident. Remember where you are! DO NOT wear a deep burgundy fall lip in the middle of summer at the Bahamas it just does not fit! Make your makeup work your pictures, and match your vaca get away!

Moving on to Sexy Vaca Hair! Yes we want sexy hair during our vacation but we need to remember healthy hair is sexy hair! SO lets protect our gorgeous locks at the same time we make them look irresistible!

During the day go with a natural look, let your hair hang in its natural curl, wave, or straight pattern. If it is just simply to hot to let it blow in the wind!!! Try a high pony tail, or braid it back. Protect your hair by adding coconut oil, almond oil or leave in conditioner. Spray it with a heat protection spray.

At night do whatever you like! There is no limits, just be cautious of your time! The more time spent in front of the mirror less time you have outside of your hotel room to enjoy adventure, food, and fine wine! I always carry dry shampoo with me, it gets me through every vacation! It always saves a lot of time and adds a lot of volume! Just remember the same way you want your makeup to compliment your amazing vaca get away you want your hair to do the same! The goal is to look great while you feel great!

I Scream you Scream we all Scream for the Perfect Outfit! Well really ice cream but we want our outfits to look fitting while eating that cone of ice cream. Have you ever been on vacation enjoying a cone of ice cream and look over and there sits a woman in the perfect ice cream eating attire and you think to yourself who dressed you, Pinterest themselves!? The secret to this adorable look no matter what your doing during your vacation is to stop and think. Take the extra 5 minutes to throw on fresh clothes, prepare for the day, the night, or the activity.

  • Dress your AGE! all ages have a fine line between sexy and you look like your wearing your little sisters clothes. No matter if your 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, or 70 dress your age but dress on the sexier side of your age. Never stop pursuing feeling wonderful.
  • Classy is better than flashy. Wear whatever it is you like but if you want too look classy, stick in the neutral color family, solids instead of patterns, and keep the jewelry look up to date.
  • Dress for the weather. No one looks sillier than being dressed completely opposite of the weather outside. If its 90 degrees dress like its 90 degrees if its 60 dress like its 60 degrees.
  • As I have referred to many of times in this post Pinterest is the best place to find outfit ideas

The Start of the Blog

Hi, welcome to my blog site ! I am Blythe

I know many of you are thinking what is this? What can I get from here? Why did Blythe choose to start this blog?? or what the heck is going on ? I am going to take this time to explain to all of you what my site is all about and why I decided to start it up!

My friends like to refer to me as “prissy” and I use to take offense to it but over the years I have learned to embrace it as apart of me. I love makeup, I love clothes, I love hair, and I love all things pink and gold! Over the past several years social media has blown up with tricks, tips, and tutorials for women to learn different makeup applications, hair styles, fashion, recipes, and DIY projects. BUT lets be honest !!! Who really has time to do a 2 hour makeup job in the morning before work when you have a sick child, a cranky husband, a dog that needs to be let out, and its 7:30 and you need to be clocked in by 8:15, OH ! and do not forget you will need to add that 45 minute hair style to go along with the makeup job to make you look fabulous. It is just NOT realistic. Social media has made so many unrealistic standards for the everyday average hard working woman of America and these standards are just flat out NOT do able or reachable bottom line.

Does this mean I am knocking on the amazing bloggers who do amazing beauty and fashion tutorials absolutely NOT! Does this mean I am saying to the everyday average hard working woman “sucks for you, you will just have to look less than your best” absolutely NOT!  So what am I saying? Glad you asked!

I designed this blog to provide tips, tricks, advice, and inspiration to all you wonderful, beautiful, but busy women out there! I will share some of my own personal tricks I have been doing for years, I will discover new tricks and share them with you ladies, basically I will do all the side work to have us hard working women looking and feeling our best everyday with the little time gap we have to get ready with!

Other things to expect from the blog

I will be doing and discussing everyday looks, special occasion looks, night out looks, vacation looks, skin care, products, treatments, home projects, anything that is requested for topic, and sometimes I will simply be sharing my heart with you fine ladies. I know we all go through similar things and sometimes we just need to know we are not alone!

Thank you for reading!!!!!!! Be bold, be beautiful, and be inspired. MUCH LOVE ❤
